A staple Japanese dish, soba noodles are made by mixing water, buckwheat and wheat flour. Often served on special occasions, virtually every region has its recipe, toppings, and traditions surrounding soba. While trying soba noodles ranks high on most Japanese travel itineraries, learning to make these noodles yourself is another great way to delve hands-on into this fascinating part of Japanese cuisine.


In this hands-on experience, you will learn the soba-making secrets of Chef Minagawa, owner of the Sushiya Nobu restaurant, who has extensive experience working in a soba restaurant. Drawing from his expert knowledge of Japanese cuisine, he welcomes guests into his restaurant for an authentic cooking class on all things soba.


You'll mix, knead, shape, and cut noodles guided by Chef Minagawa. You'll also get to taste soba noodles made by the chef and see how yours compare. Craving more? You can opt to upgrade this experience with an option package with a premium sushi course with soba noodles, sushi, appetizers, and dessert (see Options below).


This class takes place at Sushiya Nobu, a modern, 7-seat counter restaurant only a few minutes on foot from Hiroo Station in Shibuya. A quiet realm with a natural light-wooden interior, the restaurant offers a stark contrast from Shibuya's bustling, busy streets.
