My boys (ages 7 and 11), my husband, and I loved the tour of Harajuku so much! Shizuka is an wonderful guide who planned an amazing tour of fun activities and incredible food. She is incredibly engaging, personable, and easy to talk to, making every moment feel relaxed and enjoyable. The history Shizuka shared of Harajuku and Tokyo was great; my husband and I found it fascinating to hear how much the city has changed over time. All the food stops were fantastic, filled with delicious dishes that we enjoyed eating and/or had fun making (dinner). We highly recommend a tour with Shizuka; this was a top highlight of our Tokyo trip!

I recently had the privilege of joining a tour hosted by Shizuka Anderson, and it was an experience that exceeded all my expectations. Shizuka was, without a doubt, one of the coolest and kindest guides I’ve ever met. It was clear from the very beginning just how much time and effort she had devoted to preparing for the tour. Her care for every participant shone through in every detail, making it a truly personal and thoughtful experience. Shizuka’s energy and enthusiasm were infectious. She brought a lively and engaging spirit to the group, making every moment enjoyable. Beyond that, she was incredibly attentive and kind, ensuring that everyone felt included and comfortable. Her sincerity was apparent in everything she did, and it’s rare to meet someone so genuine and dedicated to creating a positive experience for others. The tour itself was absolutely fantastic. I had so much fun that I can’t wait to do it again when I return to Japan. Every aspect of it was perfectly organized, which allowed me to fully relax and immerse myself in the experience. Shizuka’s expertise and byFood’s seamless planning made this one of the most enjoyable activities I’ve ever done while traveling. I wholeheartedly recommend this tour to anyone looking for an unforgettable experience. If Shizuka and byFood introduce new tours in the future, I’ll be the first to sign up. Thank you, Shizuka, for such an amazing adventure—I’m already looking forward to my next visit.

I’m grateful to have snatched the last spot for this tour. Shizuka, needless to say, was an amazing host! She’s such a warm, friendly and overall full of positive vibes. She made sure everyone was tended to and we got some amazing food along the way. Highly recommended!

Gosh - such a great time! It was just like we were in a byFood video. She took us through Harajuku explaining the sites, eats, and giving off those special Shizuka vibes the whole time! She was a spectacular host. Our group was small, so easy to make quick (drinking) friends. Food was fantastic, and the non-food activities were a blast. 10/10 would do again! :-)

Our family had such a wonderful time joining Shizuka for the Harajuku Food Tour. Definitely a highlight of our Japan trip! Shizuka’s warm and charming personality made us feel so welcomed. She is a true professional and so knowledgeable with the history of the area as well as the Japanese culture. Cannot say enough about how comfortable she made us feel and her attention to every little detail. Would definitely recommend this tour to anyone.
