Yoroniku Tokyo Azabudai Hills
From truffle-crowned sukiyaki, silk loin and caviar sushi rolls, the legendary Yoroniku arrives in Azabudai with its high-dining take on yakiniku.
Restaurant Details
After finding success in Minami Aoyama, followed by another booming outlet in Ebisu, the legendary yakiniku store Yoroniku has found its next residence in the bustling, upscale Azabudai, bringing along the brand’s reputation-defining dishes and stellar-grade meat cuts.
The restaurant is known for its high-dining take on yakiniku — a Japanese-style barbecue — that receives a luxurious, often French-influenced twist. This originality is attributed to owner-chef Hideyuki Kuwahara, who trained at Yakiniku Jumbo and drew inspiration from his previous career as a DJ.
The Azabudai Hills outpost is sleek and intimate, featuring the contours one would expect in Tokyo’s prolific business district. With a smooth wooden counter, marble-patterned tables, and views of the district skyline, the ambiance complements a thoughtfully curated course menu.
Frequent visitors of the flagship store can rest assured that many of the original branch's mainstay items, like the signature “silk loin” — thin-sliced sirloin rolled around a rice ball — are also served here. Diners can indulge in the perfectly executed chateaubriand “katsu-sando” (katsu sandwich) or the filet mignon stuffed in a hollowed-out corn cob. The restaurant doesn’t shy away from extravagant ingredients; raw chopped beef rests atop rice and is further garnished with black caviar; the zabuton (a Japanese cut of wagyu from the chuck) is served in a small bowl with a raw egg and freshly shaved truffle.
It’s safe to say that being located in Azabudai exposes the Yoroniku to a new audience: suit-clad office crowd on power dinners. Yet, diners can also find equal enjoyment whether dining solo or on a date in one of the most popular yakiniku brands in Tokyo.
