Udon Sakaeda
There's no more authentic Japanese lunch experience than building your own udon bowl.
Restaurant Details
Kagawa Prefecture is known to be an udon hotspot. With such large competition, it's hard for one eatery to stand out from the rest. Yet, Udon Sakaeda manages to do so by allowing its customers to slurp bowls of their udon as early as five in the morning.
This udon-ya is a bit different from the rest. Instead of ordering through the vending machine and waiting patiently for your order to be served, customers are to make their own bowl. It's the ultimate self-service shop and that's the main part of the charm.
The system is basically three simple steps after ordering: warm the udon, pour the soup, and add as little or as many toppings as you like. You can also pick from a selection of 60 kinds of tempura!
To make your own udon at an udon restaurant with a long history like Udon Sakaeda is truly something you shouldn't miss out on if you find yourself in Kagawa.
