Sushi Murakami Jiro
Mouthwatering tuna, expert nigiri, carefully calculated rice — a holy trinity of fine sushi dining!
Restaurant Details
Tuna is the highlight of any good sushi meal, so you’ll be glad to know that the tuna on offer at Sushi Murakami Jiro in Osaka is absolutely exquisite. The eponymous owner-chef was a prodigious understudy at leading sushi restaurant Saeki, where he learned to create the perfect nigiri from some of the best in the business.
Now, as owner of his own Michelin-starred restaurant, he’s especially particular about his sushi rice — from the texture of it when cooked, to the conditions it’s grown under. All of this makes for outstanding nigiri, featuring a range of toppings sourced through the personal connections of the owner.
Osaka seafood culture prioritizes white fish which isn’t aged, so at Sushi Murakami Jiro you can enjoy this distinctly local style of sushi, from a young chef at the top of his game.
