Sukiyaki Jyuniten
Tokyo’s Sukiyaki Jyuniten believes only the highest quality 12-grade A5 wagyu is worthy of inclusion in its luxurious shabu shabu and sukiyaki courses.
Restaurant Details
Sister restaurant to Nishi-Azabu and Marunouchi’s The Innocent Carvery, Sukiyaki Jyuniten guides diners to new heights with succulent meat dishes of the highest quality.
The restaurant’s spirit lies in its name – Jyuniten, or “12 points” refers to both the highest grade on the wagyu quality scale and the 12 Buddhist guardian deities dwelling in the heavenly realms.
Sukiyaki Jyuniten easily lives up to the prestige of its location in the upscale business district between Tokyo Station and the Imperial Palace. The sukiya (tea ceremony room) carpenter-turned-architect Sano Fumihiko designed the restaurant’s shoji paper screens and wood panel interior that bestows a sense of calm celebration. Meanwhile, the storefront’s display cases proudly show off various cuts of lean and marbled A5 kuroge wagyu from different prefectures, teasing diners about the delectable meat fare to come.
The restaurant dwells mostly in tabehodai (all-you-can-eat) format, which showcases the restaurant’s impressive A5 wagyu collection. Diners can choose between sukiyaki, shabu shabu or both. The Kansai-style sukiyaki allows the grilled meat’s hearty flavors to take center stage before the vegetables and other ingredients are added to bolster the broth. For the warming shabu shabu, slices of marbled meat are drawn into the ponzu or sesame-based sauce.
A peaceful oasis amid Marunouchi’s fast-paced rhythm, Sukiyaki Jyuniten’s sukiya-style space and menu invite diners to linger a little longer, enjoying good conversation and a hearty, satisfying meal.
