Ramenya Iidashouten
Taste the magic in their ramen alchemy, just an hour down the coast from Tokyo.
Restaurant Details
This unassuming little two-story house — located in the quaint coastal hot spring retreat of Yugawara — conceals a ramen shop which is counted among the best in Kanagawa by multiple ramen guides and award panels.
They go to extra lengths in creating their soups. The shoyu (soy sauce) ramen uses unpasteurized soy — 6 different varieties blended together, while the shio ramen uses a blend of five salts. The wheat noodles themselves are also made from a blend of multiple different grain types to achieve a unique result.
On top of your delicious bowl of noodles and broth you can add toppings such as slow-cooked pork or chicken, or even Chinese dumplings. The shop opens at 11:00 am, but from 8:00 am you can swing by to grab a priority ticket to avoid having to queue when the doors open.

Restaurant location
Nestled below the bustling city of Tokyo, Kanagawa Prefecture is as diverse in its environment as its food is delicious; Kanagawa offers Chinese street food and craft beer in Yokohama and fresh seafood from Kamakura and Enoshima, as well as natural beauty and mountainous produce in the hot spring town of Hakone near the base of Mount Fuji.
We strive to be as accurate as possible and keep up with the changing landscape of Japan’s food and travel industries. If you spot any inaccuracies, please send a report.
