Enjoy handmade and additive-free ice desserts made from seasonal fruit on Ishigaki Island.

Restaurant Details

Opened in 2018, Painushimahyoka is a store selling additive-free and handmade popsicles in Ishigaki, Okinawa. It is located in Tamatorizaki Observatory, a famous spot on the island where you can enjoy a view of the sea.

At Painushimahyoka, you can enjoy Okinawa's seasonal fruit even when they’re out of season. The owner and his wife love the fruits of Japan's southernmost Yaeyama Islands so they handcraft fruity iced desserts to preserve their flavor. To ensure that you can taste these precious fruits throughout the year, they cut them at peak ripeness, and freeze them to lock in their flavor. Sugar is not used. Their pineapple flavor is highly recommended, as pineapple is an iconic fruit of Okinawa.

Don't miss the chance to enjoy the sweetness and freshness of the popsicles here if you have a chance to visit Ishigaki Island!
