Sushi Renma
Experience classic Edomae sushi in Okinawa, at the sister branch of one of the region’s most famous sushi restaurants.
Restaurant Details
A long-standing hallmark of quality and one of the most popular sushi restaurants in Okinawa, Sushi Kawagoe finds a new home in Okinawa under an all new name. Sushi Renma transports visitors far from Okinawa’s sandy beaches with impressive natural wood paneling and elegant shodo calligraphy behind the counter top, which is expertly crafted from a single plank of wood.
While Okinawa is known for tropical cuisine that diverges from Japanese tradition, Renma upholds the technique and mastery of the mainland’s sushi traditions to impressive detail. From choosing ingredients to slicing sushi toppings, expert chefs pair their long-practiced skill of nigiri sushi-making with elegant small plates. Omakase meals are reasonably priced but exude elegance, made all the more exclusive by placing their carefully chosen, rare ingredients front and center.
Sit at one of 13 counter seats with a glass of rare sake in hand, and watch as the master sushi chef carefully prepares each piece one by one.
