Miyamoto
A top soba restaurant in Shizuoka, where you can try authentic, handmade noodles.
Restaurant Details
Take a train down over the Oi river from central Shizuoka City to get to this fantastic soba eatery. Here you can try traditional hand-ground soba, which have a more rustic look in texture than the factory-processed varieties.
They also specialize in kamaboko (pureed fishcake), served with wasabi and soy sauce. When your noodles are served, you’ll be presented with an arrangement of soba noodles on a circular wooden dish, with dipping soup on the side. This is Japan’s most classic comfort food, perfect for a filling lunch in summer or winter, seeing as you can order them hot or cold.
The restaurant is small, with only 8 seats available, so make sure to get there early on weekends to avoid the line.
