Restaurant Details
Mitakien is a Japanese kappo restaurant located in Chizucho where you can savor the richness of the mountain with mountain vegetable-based dishes, homemade tofu, and freshly-caught charcoal grilled fish. Inside Mitakien, there are several cottage-like Japanese traditional houses where you can be seated.
There are mainly three kinds of lunch courses at Mitakien: Hinoki (6,600 yen), Sugi (4,400 yen), and Take (3,080 yen). The courses all use carefully selected local fresh vegetables and other ingredients, which are free from any additives.
The Hinoki course includes wild game dishes and other seasonal hotpot dishes in spring, autumn, and winter; and cold tofu dishes in summer. The Sugi course comes with grilled fish with their original miso, and other konnyaku (konjac) dishes. The Take course is the most basic course that comes with various kinds of small dishes such as homemade tofu and mountain vegetable dishes.
