KONAKARA
Sample some delicious umami-packed stew dishes at this Tokyo oden restaurant which is a favorite among locals.
Restaurant Details
This is one of the most famous oden stew restaurants in all of Tokyo. They have several locations around Tokyo, but the original is here, right next to Tokyo Station. After a day of wandering around Ginza and the Imperial Palace, this is a perfect place to enjoy a warm and nourishing traditional meal.
They start with seasonal appetizers, followed by a series of delicious stewed ingredients, all deeply infused with the flavors of the umami-packed broth. You can watch all of it stewing in the huge, segmented, traditional copper boiler while you wait for each dish.
The space features traditional Japanese eatery decor, with a square counter and sunken bench seating running around it. Be sure to reserve your spot if you want to be guaranteed a place here. At peak hours it fills up fast!
