A traditional Japanese restaurant in Osaka where everyone's an expert on wine.

Restaurant Details

At this kaiseki restaurant in Osaka, you’ll be spoiled for choice when it comes time to choose your wine. This isn’t only because of the respectable 100 bottle selection on offer, but also because every single member of the staff is a certified sommelier!

Opened in 2014 by owner-chef Yoshiki Koketsu, the ethos at Koketsu celebrates creativity. Their charcoaled eel, crab, and thick cuts of meat are among the best in Osaka. Chef Koketsu is also an expert in handmade soba, serving it at varying temperatures, with premium seasonal toppings like radish and duck.

There are plenty of options for kaiseki dining in Osaka, but due to their particularly high-quality and hearty cooking (and the Michelin star they have to show for it), Koketsu is one of the best.
