Aragawa Tokyo
One of the most expensive steakhouses in the world, with its very own farm.
Restaurant Details
Despite being featured in Forbes Magazine in 2006 as the world's most expensive restaurant, Aragawa surprisingly doesn't show it off in its decor at all. It's even located in the basement of a Tokyo office building — forget about a grand entrance. The main event is the beef from the restaurant's own special farm that provides what they call Sanda-gyu, meat from Sanda.
There have been countless reviews praising the tenderness and juiciness of Aragawa's beef, unlike the meat at any other restaurant due to their unique methods of raising their cattle. Their course meals, of course, feature their specialty Sanda-gyu with a side of baked potatoes, a few carrots, and some peas. Some also include homemade smoked salmon and fresh asparagus.
The lack of extravagance in the interior and exterior is being made up by the exclusivity and premium quality that no other restaurant can match. The humility of Aragawa is also what adds on to the charm of the name.
