Experience Details
Udon, tempura, and gyoza are a match made in culinary heaven! Learn to make these iconic dishes at Emi’s Japanese cooking class in Tokyo. Embark on an adventure into Japanese cuisine, and discover the joy of cooking at a cozy home in Tokyo.
Before we dive into the food element of this experience, we want you to meet Emi, your cooking instructor. Emi is a Tokyo local with a passion for Japanese cuisine. Her love for cooking began in her home kitchen and quickly developed into something more. She sought to share the culture and beauty of Japanese cuisine with others, which developed into the home cooking class you’ll be joining today.
Your tempura udon and gyoza escapades will begin at the train station, where Emi will be waiting for you. Together, you’ll stroll over to Emi’s place (your cooking school). Once you’ve settled in, it’s time to roll up your sleeves and tie up your apron to let the tempura udon and gyoza-making magic begin!
In this experience, you’ll knead and make Japanese udon noodles, create dashi (noodle broth), fry up some tempura, and then learn to make gyoza. Speaking of gyoza, you can choose between minced pork, minced pork and shrimp, and vegetable fillings–so be sure to note your preferences when booking!
Once you’ve completed your tempura udon and gyoza-making quest, it’s time to dig in! You’ll take home an English recipe booklet to recreate this tasty duo at home.
