Takoyaki, Osaka’s signature grilled octopus dumplings, have taken the world by storm — for good reason. This comforting and savory finger food, usually enjoyed sizzling hot straight from the grill, is a staple of Western Japan, but you don’t need to travel far to try it — you can make it yourself in downtown Tokyo!
In this fun cooking class in Shinjuku, you’ll learn the tips and tricks to making one of Japan’s most beloved comfort foods, from mixing the ingredients, to pouring the batter, shaping each dumpling into a ball, and selecting your preferred sauces and toppings to enjoy with your classmates and host!
Itinerary:
-Meet your host at the kitchen studio
-Mix in the ingredients to make the takoyaki batter and pour it into the cooker. Add toppings and shape each dumpling making sure it stays round.
-Once they are ready, takoyaki dumplings will be served on a plate. You can opt to pour sauce and garnish them with bonito flakes or seaweed. Enjoy them while they’re hot!
This fun takoyaki cooking class takes place right at the center of the action, in the bustling neighborhood of Shinjuku in central Tokyo. The kitchen venue is near Kabukicho, an entertainment district packed with izakaya restaurants, shopping arcades, and (famously) where the iconic Godzilla Head looks over the city atop one of its many modern buildings.
