At a tea ceremony near Dotonbori, an unforgettable experience awaits… You’ll experience an Osaka-style Japanese tea ceremony, learn about the history, culture, and etiquette, and then how to make matcha tea before enjoying Japanese sweets with your host. The Japanese tea ceremony–"chanoyu" or "sado"–is a ritualistic practice rooted in Zen Buddhism; it's a mindful experience that celebrates harmony, respect, purity, and tranquility.
This experience takes place in a tea room near Dotonbori–the beating heart of Osaka–where you’ll learn about tea ceremony culture, traditions, and etiquette from a Japanese tea expert with over 10 years of experience. After an introduction and explanation, you’ll experience an Osaka-style Japanese tea ceremony! After this, you’ll learn how to make matcha tea and enjoy a range of Japanese sweets. Throughout the experience, your tea-loving hosts encourage questions and are happy to provide answers–making this an educational experience from start to finish.
