Experience Details

As the foodie capital of Japan, Osaka offers wonderful cuisine and nightlife across the city. Outside of the usual Dotombori and Umeda areas, a deeper side of Osaka can be found while exploring other local areas! Discover the real nightlife and foodie culture of Osaka during this Evening Osaka Food Tour, a guided tour of Tenma and Kyobashi. Explore these two areas in intimate groups with amazing food, offering a peek into another side to Osaka at night!

Tenma is a neighborhood known for its enormous shotengai (covered shopping street), Tenjinbashi-suji Shopping Street, and the major Shinto shrine: Osaka Tenmangu Shrine. Offering a real local feel, you’ll explore busy nightlife consisting of cozy lanes and bars bursting with delicious street food. Meanwhile, the old-fashioned streets of Kyobashi lie to the east of Osaka Station, close to Osaka Castle. Around the Osaka Business Park area, Kyobashi is a drinking spot in Osaka that’s overlooked, where salarymen go after work to let off some steam. Reminiscent of the 1970s Showa era, its narrow streets are filled with nostalgic restaurants, karaoke joints, and standing bars where you can rub shoulders with locals as you drink the night away!

With a mix of exploring by foot and dining locally, you’ll get the best of both worlds during this Evening Osaka Food Tour. Dishes vary each night, so you might try all sorts of Japanese foods like sashimi, seasonal vegetables, kushi katsu deep-fried skewers, and more (but we’ll skip okonomiyaki and takoyaki, as you can try these almost anywhere in the Osaka). Throughout the night you’ll eat a full dinner, and dietary restrictions are easily accommodated for with the help of your friendly English-speaking guide! Some of your foodie stops will be at tiny standing bars, serving a range of food and drinks made in-house. During this food tour, you’ll be able to experience the local side of Osaka.
