Experience Details

Connect with your host Lena who will be greeting you from the comfort of her home in Nagoya during this online Japanese food experience. After a short introduction to get to know each other (maybe while enjoying your first cup of coffee) and checking that you have all the necessary ingredients ready, the Japanese breakfast-making demo will begin.

Making the local Nagoya-style breakfast called “Ogura toast” isn’t too hard, but Lena will introduce you to the finer points of making this the best version it can be with her special tips. You will also hear about the origin story of Ogura toast and learn to recognize the different kinds of red bean paste, which is a popular ingredient in Japanese sweets.

While munching on your finished breakfast, which pairs very well with a cup of coffee, you will be introduced to other points about Nagoya food culture and have a brief overview of Nagoya’s history and culture.

Of course, a Japanese food experience wouldn’t be complete without talking about Japanese table manners and other vital tidbits about Japan’s food culture. For Lena, there is nothing better than sharing her love for Japanese food with other people, so feel free to ask anything you have ever wanted to know about Japanese cuisine!
