Have you ever tried to buy miso at a grocery store in Japan, only to be overwhelmed with all the different options? Indeed, miso is the star of several of Japan's most celebrated dishes, like miso ramen or the classic miso soup that comes with most traditional-style meals. But what exactly is miso, and how to prepare it?
In this masterclass in Osaka, you'll learn what makes miso varieties different, taste several kinds of miso to find your favorite, and make your own miso balls to prepare soup.
Marie, your knowledgeable host, will guide you through a miso tasting while explaining the different colors, fermentation methods, and health benefits of different kinds of miso.
Together, you will create four miso soup packs, three of which you can take home to make soup just by adding hot water. Prepare and enjoy a steamy bowl of miso soup, and level up your Japanese cooking with this miso cooking class!
