Experience Details
Fukuoka is synonymous with tonkotsu ramen, but those hungry for more will find a friend in Jiro ramen. A staggering bowl topped with pork, garlic, boiled bean sprouts, cabbage, and pork in a conical, Mt Fuji-like shape, Jiro ramen is bursting with flavor, umami, and calories. This "junk food" ramen makes the perfect late-night comfort meal and is a great alternative if the average bowl of ramen just isn't enough. Rest assured, though: if you’d rather have a bowl of Fukuoka’s delicious tonkotsu, that’s also an option!
Meet Yoshi, your host, a ramen lover and Fukuoka expert. Having lived in the US for 10 years, Yoshi decided to put his extensive experience in the travel industry to good use by creating tours highlighting the best gourmet offerings of Fukuoka.
You’ll start the tour with a bowl of ramen at a local eatery (you'll be having either Jiro or tonkotsu ramen, depending on the time when you opt to participate). After the meal, your host will drive you to a viewpoint where you can bask in the astounding nightscapes of Kyushu's largest city. Then, your host will take you to a unique ice cream parlor for a late ice cream fix. Opt between the shop’s sweet assortment of 28 ice cream desserts, ranging from creme brulee and matcha to a popular strawberry milk option topped with fresh strawberries and condensed milk — the perfect way to end your evening exploration of Fukuoka on a note as sweet as the whole experience itself!
