Experience Details
Gyudon, a Japanese-style beef bowl, consists of a base of steamed white rice and is topped with juicy and thinly sliced beef and onion simmered in a salty and sweet soy sauce marinade. Eating like a local means finding your own style of gyudon, as local people can be very particular about which toppings and flavors they add to their beef bowl. In this experience, you can try all kinds of toppings, share them, and discover your own gyudon style!
Starting from the 1st floor of the Shinjuku NS building, just under the "Yukku-Rhythm Grand Pendulum Clock," once listed in the Guinness Book of Records as the world's largest pendulum clock, we will walk to our destination. We will arrive at a popular beef bowl joint, which creates and serves delicious beef bowls at a reasonable price – making it a staple of many locals' diets.
Before ordering, your guide will introduce the different types of beef bowl customizations while providing some tips about the "secret style," which is known to a few people. Through group conversation and asking questions, you can form ideas about which type of gyudon toppings you want to try.
Your guide will order many different toppings to share amongst the group, each topping being served on small and separate plates. You are encouraged to sample as many toppings as you want to make the perfect beef bowl! Assemble your beef bowl, take a photo, and enjoy!
