Your friendly English-speaking guide will take you through different drinking styles in Asakusa. You’ll start at a sake brewery right in the center of the Japanese capital. Here, you will sample three different kinds of sake, including doburoku, a chunky and sweet kind of cloudy rice wine that is rare to find. Your next stop will take you to a street lined with bars and hole-in-the-walls, where you’ll try Tokyo’s classic “hoppy” — a drink that tastes like beer, but not quite. This Tokyo cult beverage can be mixed with sake or shochu, or simply drunk on its own (especially for those looking for a low-alcohol content drink).
