Bruce is the man! Me and my partner booked a food tour with Bruce not knowing what to expect, after a quick intro we walked while we talked, on our way to our first Yatai stop. It became apparent quick that Bruce really knows his stuff! He has been living in Japan for 40 odd years, can speak the language fluently and has developed relationships with the locals over that period, so it gives you that VIP feel while you’re on the tour with him. We would highly recommend going on tour with him if you’re in Fukuoka!

Bruce was a terrific guide! Rather than yatai hopping down by the canal, Bruce took us to a long-time family run yatai in the Tenjin area that was well-known to him - and they had seats held and waiting for us! But before they were set up and ready to serve, Bruce took us for some 'conveyer belt' sushi nearby. Delicious! At the yatai we tried a variety of delicious foods and ate until we could eat no more. Took a walk after and finish with delicious gelato! We wanted to visit a yatai with a guide because it seemed a bit daunting to us to enter one, sit elbow to elbow with others and try to figure out what to eat! Glad we took the tour - it was a great night!

Bruce was a great host and our tour with him was a highlight of our time in Fukuoka! He was super easy going and very fun to talk with. There was a bit of rain that night and Bruce's usual yatai spots weren't open but he adapted his route quickly and we still had a fantastic time together. We really enjoyed all the dishes we ate! Will definitely make time to see Bruce again next time we're in Fukuoka. - Nick & Charline
