Yakiniku no Dendo Kiyomizu Hall
Sister restaurant of Osaka’s cult-favorite Yakiniku Fujimoto lands its feet in Umeda, bringing a luxurious spin on yakiniku through offerings of kuroge wagyu and Kobe beef.
Restaurant Details
Yakiniku no Dendo Kiyomizu Hall operates on the philosophy that top-quality meat is the defining hallmark of an exceptional yakiniku restaurant.
The concept clearly won’t be lost to diners. Positioned diagonally from Osaka’s Umeda Sky Building, the sister restaurant of the widely popular Yakiniku Fujimoto strikes with its larger cow head neon signage. Inside, the space — featuring counters and semi-private rooms — is designed for practicality. Each table is equipped with its iron grill and telescopic exhaust pipe. A few touches of opulence elevate it from run-of-the-mill to one-of-a-kind.
Like its name, which means “hall of fame,” the meat of the matter at this stalwart is its envious library of Japanese Black beef and prime cuts. The restaurant secures its reputation through strong partnerships with trusted domestic suppliers, ensuring only the finest quality meat reaches the table. Each cut is carefully prepared using methods designed to highlight its characteristics.
One of those is the signature, the rare loin yukhoe. The heavenly Korean-style beef tartare is served on a wide, circular platter. The meat is sliced thin, topped with garlic chips and sesame seeds, and crowned with glossy egg yolk atop a bed of spring onions. It’s ridiculously tender, and melts on the tongue once it hits the palate. Venturing into the revered wagyu realm, full-blood wagyu cuts marinated in tare sauce and top-tier Kobe beef are offered for guests to grill to perfection.
At its core, dining here is about understanding and appreciating the meticulous processes behind every premium cut of Japanese beef. Come here with your carnivorous friends and sit in the private booth, or dine solo on their counter.
