Tsukiji was the epicenter of Japan’s gargantuan seafood culture for decades, but nowadays its famous market has a new home in Toyosu. However, the legacy lives on strong. The area is still one of the best places to try Japanese sushi, and this restaurant is one of the best restaurants to do so in.
Tsukiji Tama Sushi is located at the border between Ginza and Tsukiji. The company which runs it has been in business for over 90 years, and is a big name in Tokyo sushi. They invented a famous style all their own, the suehiro temaki: a conical roll of sushi, wrapped in seaweed.
You can try this as well as standard nigiri featuring an absolutely high range of ingredients, including fatty tuna, salmon, sea urchin, conger eel, shrimp, salmon roe, squid, wasabi and eggplant, and much more.
There are over 100 seats across two levels. This might sound like a lot, but this bright and modern store is extremely popular, so booking ahead is absolutely essential.
