Sushi Tokyo Yoshida
Prestige sushi dining in luxurious surroundings, featuring top-quality ingredients and rarities which set its course menus above its peers.
Restaurant Details
Nestled away in the unassuming area of Hatagaya — just a short train ride from Shinjuku — lies one of the jewels of the Tokyo sushi scene: Sushi Tokyo Yoshida. In fact, the Yoshida group is perhaps best known as a provider of actual jewels, with a long history as a retailer for luxury jewelry and watches.
This ethos of tasteful luxury is likewise embodied in their restaurant, which launched in 2021. Those who pass through its doors are greeted with an elegant space decorated with classical porcelain pieces, and paintings adorned in gold and silver leaf.
Head chef Akira Suzuki employs the same discerning tastes when choosing his ingredients fresh from the market each morning. Accepting only the finest maguro tuna on offer, and supplementing it with some of the rarest ingredients from around the country, he’s able to present his guests with the very finest that Japan’s oceans have to offer.
These are presented in course menus which stride the line between tradition and innovation. The nigiri and sashimi are very much in the traditional Edomae style, but paired with wines from around the world. The cellar at Sushi Tokyo Yoshida is stocked with vintages from Sicily, France, California, and beyond.
This is prestige sushi dining at its very finest.
