Saeki Hanten
Relaxed Chinese counter dining just south of Ebisu, serving authentic tastes of Canton.
Restaurant Details
A vibrant atmosphere spills out from the open kitchen at Saeki Hanten, carried by the sounds and smells of roasting meats and frying vegetables. This Cantonese restaurant is one of the best places to try the flavors of south China in Tokyo.
All of the classics are on offer here, in top form. Think roast duck, roast pork, spicy noodles, and dim sum. They use Shaoxing wine in their cooking— a type of rice wine from Zhejiang province — for things like boiling shrimp. These touches bring some unique Chinese flavors to common Japanese ingredients
The interior is simple and minimalist, setting an atmosphere which is lighter and more conversational that many other counter restaurants in the city. This is a place to share a few drinks with friends, while enjoying some hearty and flavorful Chinese cooking.
