This Michelin-rated traditional Japanese restaurant is located in Hatsukaichi, a town several hours to the west of Hiroshima in the mountains. When you drive through this idyllic region, you’ll enjoy the peace and quiet of sun-drenched green fields.
The area is covered in rivers teeming with abundant sweetfish, and forests filled with wild vegetables and mushrooms. The owner even grows his own vegetables for use in the dishes, and sources fresh seafood from the region’s markets.
The menu shifts with the seasons, and you can expect the freshest ingredients from mountain, river, field, and sea throughout the year. After a long series of delectable dishes, you’ll finish up by sampling some delicious traditional wagashi sweets with a cup of matcha green tea, giving you time to stop and reflect on the outstanding meal and beautiful surroundings.
