Nakazen
The focus of this Kyoto-style kaiseki restaurant is not only on the cuisine but also the tableware that presents the exquisite dishes.
Restaurant Details
What better place to experience kaiseki dining than in the city where the cuisine originated. Nakazen puts its focus on delivering the most authentic Kyoto-style kaiseki. This traditional restaurant does that by not only locally sourcing its seasonal ingredients but also paying careful attention to the tableware used, as well.
Just like the dishes on the kaiseki menu, the tableware changes by the season. They’re typically linked to something in the specific month like an event or the season change. As these tableware are paired with the various seasonal dishes, the kaiseki experience is even more enhanced.
Every premium-quality ingredient can be found at Nakazen. Look out for wild vegetables from Ohara and hamo (conger eel) from Awajishima — all prepared based on the season, like grilled dishes in summer and steamed in winter.
