Myoan
A top kaiseki in Nagoya, with some of the most authentic traditional dishes in town, and 2 Michelin stars to show for it.
Restaurant Details
Nagoya has no shortage of kaiseki restaurants, but Myoan is one of the best by far, as proven by the 2 Michelin stars they hold! Their menu is made up of traditional dishes with a stripped-back, natural ethos, and some wilder combinations dreamed up by the chef.
His wife handles the hospitality, presenting dishes on a lovely collection of serving ware which changes to match the seasonal dishes. In traditional style, they use an authentic kiln to cook the rice bowls which finish the meal, with delicious seasonal ingredients stirred through.
There are 11 seats in total at Myoan, with the counter places offering the best view of the action in the kitchen. Needless to say, the double Michelin star status means that landing a reservation here can be extremely tricky, so it’s best to make a reservation as far ahead as possible.
