Lugdunum Bouchon Lyonnais
One of the Michelin-recognized gems of Tokyo’s “French Town,” where l'esprit Lyonnais fills the air.
Restaurant Details
Kagurazaka is known as Tokyo’s French town, due to the number of quality French restaurants you can find on these relaxed, upmarket streets. One of the best is Lugdunum Bouchon Lyonnais, a faithful recreation of the restaurants found on the streets of Lyon.
Owner-chef Christophe Paucod is a Leon native, and considers his restaurant something of a culinary embassy for his hometown. With that in mind, he makes sure that the entire experience is fully authentic.
The space is essentially a reproduction of the exact kind of restaurant found in Lyon, with a careful eye for detail. It’s filled with a warm and friendly atmosphere, and stocked with a fantastic range of French wines.
The fare is hearty, with dishes such as the signature homemade sausages served with white bean puree. There might be a touch of modernism in the presentation, but make no mistake, at its base this is a hearty, nourishing cuisine.
Keen to share his hometown’s culinary culture with as many people as possible, Monsieur Paucod also sets his prices very honestly. At lunch, diners can order a la carte, meaning that a meal of Michelin-level quality can be had here for under 5,000 yen!
