Tour d'Argent Tokyo
Nowhere in Japan can boast the same length of history and heritage as this 430 year old French brand.
Restaurant Details
This celebrated Nagatacho restaurant is the Japanese branch of one of the oldest restaurants in the world: Tour d'Argent Paris. Founded in 1582, legend has it that the elegant dining halls there were a favorite of Henry the Great, king of France from 1589 to 1610.
The rooms at the Tokyo branch similarly epitomize the term “fit for a king” with their rich colors, centuries old paintings, opulent furnishings, and glass chandeliers dangling from the ornate plaster roofs. You simply will not find anywhere quite like it elsewhere in Japan. Other restaurants can only dream of having the same weight of history behind every plate.
At Tour d'Argent Tokyo, dishes which found their way onto the tables of the well-heeled Parisians of eras past are presented in their original forms. Waterfowl is the specialty on the menu, with the goose foie gras and young roast duck among the best items offered.
Naturally excellent wine pairings are available, drawn from a large cellar, as are special sets which focus on premium ingredients such as black truffle.
As you sit in the middle of a room which resembles a historic gallery, with tailcoat-dressed waiters gliding around to attend to your every need, you’ll have ample time to drink in the opulence of it all: truly a dining experience to remember forever.
