Opened by owner-chef Yoshiaki Ito of the likewise Michelin-starred L’Archeste in Paris, L’Eterre in Tokyo likewise stands out for its approach to cooking. Meaning “the earth” in French, the restaurant takes an expectedly approach to cooking: head chef Akira Tagomori, Ito’s understudy in Paris, uses traditional materials like firewood, charcoal, and straw during key moments during the cooking process to bring out the pure essence of the ingredients.
L’Eterre’s lunch and dinner menus are 10-course affairs that start with bite-sized amuse-bouche to tease your tastebuds and end with decadent desserts like cheesecake and chocolate truffles. L’Eterre also boasts a staggering wine list with over 400 varieties, mainly from Burgundy, and a walk-in wine cellar with room for up to 2,000 bottles.
Guests can watch dishes come to life from the counter space, or take advantage of L’Eterre’s semi-private room that holds up to six people.
