Restaurant Details
Take an eight-minute walk from Omotesando Station to this magnificent 2021 Michelin-starred French restaurant that steals the hearts and stomachs of both local and foreign diners. Even the French find the flavors of the dishes from this restaurant nostalgic and true to home. LAUBURU offers the most authentic French Basque Country cuisine, which is the region on the border between Spain and France.
The skillful master chef, Shinichiro Sakurai, spent his training years in France. He was exposed to the various regional cuisines from all over the country but fell in love with the Basque region. Even the interior of LAUBURU reflects chef Shinichiro’s lively passion for the French Basque Country — simplistic yet rustic, just like his cooking style.
With only an a la carte menu available, you’ll be able to order as much as you want. LAUBURU has a strong focus on pork dishes, using rare Basque black pork with roasted bones that are baked for about two hours. The homemade prosciutto and sausage dish is a big hit with the guests as it is a significant French dish.
LAUBURU also has a delicious range of vegetable dishes and appetizers that complement the stronger flavors. Complete your meal with the sturdy wines of Madiran and Southwest France. This French restaurant is also known for its generous portions, so be sure to come with an empty stomach!
