Restaurant Details
Hekkoro, located in the countryside of Kanagawa Prefecture, is a great place to taste some comforting, homestyle Japanese food.
The restaurant specializes in hōtō, which is a famous dish from Yamanashi prefecture. Many of the dishes served here are plant-based, which is great for those seeking vegan options. On the menu, dishes that have a yin-yang symbol next to them are meat-optional, adding more flexibility for vegetarians.
The restaurant has been operating since 1978 and has always strived to use the most natural local ingredients. There are two menus, one for lunch and one for dinner. Both menus have a variety of offerings, ranging from noodles to rice dishes. Customers also can try some of their freshly homebrewed doburoku as well as their unique soy milk ice cream.
The restaurant is great for vegetable lovers and people who want to experience common Japanese home-cooking in the region.
