Hashiguchi
One of the best hidden gems on the Tokyo sushi map, located in the vibrant neighborhood of Akasaka.
Restaurant Details
After walking out of a meal at Hashiguchi, a long-running sushi restaurant in Akasaka, you’ll be scratching your head trying to figure out why it has no Michelin stars. Well, rumor has it that the chef turned down the distinction, for reasons known only to himself.
Whatever the reason, he doesn’t exactly need the exposure, with a loyal base of local regulars who sing his praises all over town. Part of the draw is that this is one of the most exhaustive omakase menus in sushidom.
His authentic Edomae sushi is world class, and you’ll be able to enjoy it for over two hours if you can get a seat at his counter.
