Gyujiro’s next venture in Fukushima has won the hearts of Osaka locals with its expertly butchered A5 wagyu and mouthwatering sauce, delivering affordable, top-tier yakiniku that speaks for itself.

Restaurant Details

In Osaka's yakiniku scene, Gyujiro is a household name.

Directly managed under a Kansai-based meat wholesaler, it is one of the handful of yakiniku stoes that is able to dial up the meat game by serving supremely tender A5 wagyu and top-shelf meat at affordable prices. Head to Fukushima, Osaka's gourmet epicenter, and ask a local for their favorite yakiniku spot — chances are, they'll direct you to Gyujiro’s branch.

Thanks to its wholesaler, which oversees the largest beef distribution in Kansai, Gyujiro maintains a standard that rivals the best high-end dining experiences in Osaka. The jaw-dropping platters of intricately marbled beef — glossy red, meticulously cut — guarantee that no corners are cut in quality.

The restaurant carefully selects A5 Japanese Black beef, the most tender of the four wagyu breeds. Gyujiro insists on only freshly cut meat of the day — no frozen options allowed. This ensures that in addition to the melt-in-your-mouth red meat, their horumon (offal) offerings are remarkably clean and odor-free, making them a favorite even for those less adventurous with meat. Other cuts, butchered from a whole animal into slices, are turned into creative appetizers like yukhoe (Korean-style beef tartare) made from lean akami or meat sushi.

More often, when the Japanese Black wagyu sirloin yakisuki — a form of “grilled” sukiyaki — arrives, the chatter pauses. The long, thin slices of beef bathed in sweet sauce can be wrapped around a mound of hot rice, creating a bite that is both comforting and indulgent. From the casual yet attentive service to the vibrant atmosphere, Gyujiro Fukushima delivers an almost pitch-perfect yakiniku experience.
