Enjoy an exquisite dining experience at élan, where chef Ryoma Shida brings the home cooking of southern France to Japan.

Restaurant Details

élan, located in Tokyo's Shinjuku district, is the brainchild of chef Ryoma Shida from the two-star Michelin restaurant Esquisse.

Shida's modern take on southern French cuisine has become the highlight of the restaurant. élan, which in French means "leap," aptly describes the chef's cooking style as he often surprises with dishes that trigger the imaginative faculty of the diner.

The restaurant's menu is an ever-evolving exploration of southern French cuisine, from roast Kyoto Nanatani duck to sautéed ayu (sweetfish). Seasonal ingredients are sourced from local markets and used to create dishes that evoke the warmth of a home-cooked meal.

Dine in an atmosphere of sophistication and elegance as the restaurant offers a personalized dining experience with its intimate setting. The dining room's maximum capacity is 22 guests, with six additional seats in the private dining room.
