Restaurant Details

Intimate and exclusive, Kumamoto City's best-rated steakhouse deserves the credit it receives: regarded as the ultimate stop for high-quality steak. Baron Steak House is nestled in a quiet corner of a building facing Ginza Dori street, hidden away enough to be far from the noise but central enough to be reached easily.

A self-taught chef and grilling obsessive, chef Toshihiro Iwata picked up bits and pieces from steak houses that he's dined in all around the globe, combining the best of their qualities into one. Iwata takes great care in every step of the process, from the purchasing of ingredients to serving.

The wagyu beef, directly imported from Kyushu, is prepared to achieve peak condition before the guests' arrival, and on the day itself, Iwata will cut and grill the premium meat right in front of you. On top of the quality beef, horse meat sashimi is freshly brought from Kumamoto as well as rice from Nanashiro. Only the highest quality ingredients are used at Baron Steak House.

The range of wine selected to pair with the tender grilled meat has been carefully chosen to match harmoniously with the dishes. With over 100 bottles on display and an underground cellar housing over 250 more, Baron Steak House has proven to be seriously committed to the business of meat and wine.
