Asakusa Sushi Ken
Fantastic nigiri sushi in Tokyo’s most exciting historic district, with halal certification opening the door to Muslim diners.
Restaurant Details
This is the very first halal-certified sushi restaurant in Japan! That means everything from the soy sauce to the fish to the pickles are all fully halal, as verified by the Japan Halal Foundation.
It’s not just for Muslim diners, however. Everyone can enjoy their delicious dishes, featuring fresh fish and outstanding nigiri. Toppings include shrimp, scallops, sea bream, mussels, abalone, salmon, herring, sea urchin, salmon roe, crab, and tamagoyaki egg omelet (among others). They also offer side dishes such as tempura and pickles.
The location is very accessible, right next to Asakusa Station. After wandering around the most historic part of Tokyo, stop in at this top sushiya for some of the freshest seafood you’re likely to find on your trip.
