Located next to the French embassy, you'll actually see more Italians than French in the area. That's all because of Appia, an exquisite Italian restaurant that attracts not only the locals of Tokyo but also Italians wanting a taste of home.


The service at Appia is not your usual — instead of a menu to choose from, food options are brought to guests on carts. The availability of appetizers, main courses, pasta, and dessert are explained by the staff. Guests are then able to select the ingredients they want and how they want them cooked.


Despite being on the pricier side, Appia is extremely popular — so much that it's hard to get a reservation sometimes. From the food to the wine, everything is carefully measured to provide a taste of authentic Italia.
