Aman no Shokutaku Utage
Fugu / Crab / Other Seafood
It’s a pirate’s feast for guests at Aman no Shokutaku Utage, where meals are full of treasures from the land and coast of Awaji Island.
Restaurant Details
Colorful seafood harvested from the rugged coast of Awaji Island, local Awaji beef and chicken, as well as Hyogo’s aged sake and craft beer light up into a rainbow of delights Aman no Shokutaku Utage. The grand dining venue is headed by Chef Yamashita Haruyuki, a former master chef representative of Japan at the World Gourmet Summit. Born and raised in Hyogo prefecture, he now brings his talent for teppan grilling and ingredient selection back to his birthplace.
This is one of the two venues of Aman no Shokutaku that focuses on “pirate cuisine” and where the setting is designed after a sea lord’s hideout buried deep in the mountains. At night, a bonfire casts a victorious glow. The ceiling soars high and mighty tables are cut from natural wood. Surrounded by nature, guests are invited to the indoor space or the restaurant’s terrace seats for rustic barbeque. The building peers over the stunning Japanese-style garden where guests can stroll after a meal and teahouse, whose view changes as the season goes on. The restaurant’s roomy space features 150 seats, a pet-friendly terrace, and a modern Japanese design with wooden accents and a relaxed atmosphere.
Vibrant seafood sashimi platters and family-sized chirashi sushi alongside seasonal menu items fit into its island setting. Shellfish and lobster are grilled live just like old sea lords used to, for an authentic taste of Awaji-island food culture. Even fresh vegetables, like the nationally acclaimed Awaji Island onions, celebrate the region’s rich soils and blessings.
