Aji-kan Kotohogi
The Michelin Guide ranks this Nagoya kaiseki restaurant among the best in the city.
Restaurant Details
Anyone familiar with the traditional kaiseki ambience will feel right at home sitting at the L-shaped counter of Agi-kan Kotohogi. Needless to say, those who’ve never experienced before will receive a warm welcome, and soon learn what classic kaiseki dining is all about.
The menu features quality seasonal ingredients with a focus on seafood from the local area, as well as Hokuriku. Although the exact dishes change to follow the seasons, you can expect exquisite dishes on par with their diary crab with vinegar jelly, grilled sweetfish with bamboo shoots, and sudachi citrus fruit soba noodles.
The greatest visual treat is the hassun — a seasonal platter of small bites — presented in a wicker basket with a range of ceramic dishes inside, each of them holding a different amuse bouche of seasonal vegetables or seafood.
