Restaurant Details

The second-largest city in Japan, Osaka, is famous for its local kushikatsu, which is a type of deep-fried skewered meat and vegetables. The kushikatsu restaurant, Again, can be found on a quiet street surrounded by apartment buildings. In fact, the restaurant somewhat resembles a converted apartment itself.

Regardless of its cozy size and location, again has gained quite a reputation for its creative take on traditional deep-fried skewers, even receiving a Michelin Star in 2017. Every course starts off with a deep-fried shrimp skewer to serve as a greeting. This is followed by a wide variety of up to 20 fried skewers along with a tasty bowl of salad with whipped dressing. The ingredients used for the course switched up each time, though, as the chef picks out the freshest ones each morning and that can vary depending on the season.

Serving dishes that range from the traditional kushikatsu to ones that are more experimental and modern, Again is one restaurant that deep-fried food lovers will have to try for themselves.
