Description
Inaniwa udon, a specialty dish of the wheat-growing area of Yuzawa City in Akita, has been presented to feudal lords and emperors starting from 400 years ago. Back in feudal Japan during the 1700s, villagers presented it to their lord, and following the Meiji era, Inaniwa udon continued to be delivered to the Imperial Household Agency. Known as the most expensive and high-quality udon in Japan (comparable only to two other famous regional udon types), it is characterized by its strong texture, chewiness, and smoothness.
Tomiya Shoten’s newly released packaging makes their 1kg half-cut Inaniwa udon noodles the perfect gift or souvenir from Akita prefecture. The company has been selling their original Inaniwa udon since the late Showa period, and has been appreciated by their customers for their firm texture and quality for the past few decades.
This 1kg package contains approximately 10 servings. The shelf life is 1 year (may vary depending on the time of shipping). For more types of Inaniwa udon (including 200g, 500g, and specialty flavors) see Tomiya Shoten’s other products.
