Experience Details

Seafood and meat are extensively used in Japanese cuisine, but classic recipes can be made vegan with a little creativity and some cooking skills. Just leave it to Amita, a vegetarian and vegan cuisine specialist and seasoned home cook with over 25 years of experience living in Japan, to teach you all there is to know about making Japanese-style curry and miso soup, all 100% vegan.


After Amita welcomes you into her home, she'll guide you through the day's menu: vegan Japanese-style curry and miso soup.


Japanese curry is the perfect comfort meal, with a thicker consistency than other curries and a fusion of sweet and savory flavors. Miso soup, consisting of fermented soybean paste (miso), soup stock, and seaweed, is a staple in any Japanese meal. Amita will show you how to tailor these dishes to your vegan preferences without sacrificing in deliciousness or nutrients.


After class, sit down to enjoy your meal with Amita and receive a special souvenir. The best part? She will share a recipe PDF to recreate these dishes at home anytime you're craving some homemade Japanese-style vegan dishes.

Meeting Point and Meeting Time

  • Meet at the host's home, a 5-7 minute walk from Asakusabashi Station. You can also request to meet at Asakusabashi Station's A4 Exit on the Asakusabashi Line or Asakusabashi Station's West Exit on the JR Sobu Line. More detailed information and a Google Maps link will be provided upon booking.
