Experience Details

Japan is renowned for its unique celebration of beauty, and you can be a part of this culture by crafting a miniature flower garden and enjoying a sweet parfait that tastes just as good as it looks in this experience in Shinjuku, one of Tokyo's most popular districts.

Creating miniature box gardens (hakoniwa) became a popular pastime among the aristocracy in the late 19th century. Like bonsai, these intricate gardens capture an entire landscape through careful placement of rocks and plants, a dream-like snapshot of a larger world. In this experience, rather than rocks or greenery, you'll use colorful dried flowers to craft your dream garden in a box. Inspired by the nearby Shinjuku Gyoen Park, the bright neon lights of Kabukicho, or simply your personal preferences, your cute and original flower garden is a perfect souvenir of your visit to Shinjuku.

The experience takes place in Hana No Aru Sumika, a trendy concept cafe with unique architecture and beautiful flower arrangements. In the lavish interiors of this cafe, kind and expert staff will show you how to carefully place preserved and dried flowers in small compact boxes you can easily take home for interior decoration. As you follow your creative instincts, you can enjoy one of three delicious specialty parfait options:

A citrus and black tea jelly and ice cream parfait

A meringue citron parfait with sweet and sour lemon cream

A berry parfait with creme brulee and cheesecake

This experience is perfect for those who are most creative when enjoying a sweet treat!
