During this food tour of Shonai, guests can experience cultural activities interspersed with delicious local food. First up is a trip to the Kamo Aquarium, listed by the Guinness World Records for their jellyfish exhibition. Enjoy the relaxing dance of the jellyfish in the ethereal Jellyfish Dream Theater, a 16-foot moon-shaped tank.
For lunch, visit a local farmer’s restaurant in Shonai and have a meal comprised of local vegetables while gazing out at the idyllic rural landscape.
Then, you’ll learn how to make e-rosoku, a traditional craft of Tsuruoka, at Togashi Candle Shop where you’ll decorate candles with paint and create your own original design. It’s a calming experience that’s fun for groups of families and friends!
