You will start by meeting your friendly host and cooking instructor at the Osaka Tenmangu Shrine, from where you'll set out on a shopping adventure to a selection of nearby vendors. These food shops are hidden gems in the backstreets of Osaka, allowing you a unique insight into the lives of local people. With assistance from your host, you will learn about traditional Japanese ingredients and how to choose the right products for cooking before continuing to the kitchen to start cooking!
Guided by a knowledgeable cooking instructor, this class will teach you everything you need to know about katsu curry. From the origins of the dish to the techniques required to make it from scratch, you'll become a confident and skilled chef as you broaden your knowledge of Japanese cuisine. You'll batter, fry, and cook in this hands-on katsu curry-making class, helping you understand every step of the cooking process through to your final dish, a delicious creation of your own making!
